Verse 276

sakhyā tatra tayā dattaṃ kṛśṇocchiśṭaṃ tathā rahaḥ
sarvaṃ tābhiḥ samanīya rādhikāyai nivedyate

sakhyā—by a friend; tatra—there; tayā—by her; dattaṃ—given; kṛśṇa—of Lord Kṛśṇa; ucchiśṭaṃ—remnant; tathā—so; rahaḥ—in secret; sarvaṃ—all; tābhiḥ—by them; samanīya—brought; rādhikāyai—to Śrī Rādhā; nivedyate—was offered.

Mother Yaśodā gives them the remnants from Lord Kṛśṇa's plate. The gopīs take it and in a secluded place present it before Śrī Rādhā.

Verse 277

sāpi bhuktvā sakhī-varga- yutā tad-anupūrvaśaḥ
sakhībhir manditā tiśṭhed abhisartuṃ mudānvitā

sā—She; api—also; bhuktvā—eating; sakhī-varga—friends; yutā—with; tad-anupūrvaśaḥ—in sequence; sakhībhir—by the friends; manditā—decorated; tiśṭhed—stands; abhisartuṃ—to meet; mudānvitā—happy.

Then Śrī Rādhā and Her friends honor Lord Kṛśṇa's remnants. Then, to prepare for Her meeting with Lord Kṛśṇa, the gopīs decorate joyful Rādhā.

Verse 278

prasthāpyate 'nayā kācid ita eva tataḥ sakhī
tasyābhisāritā sātha yamunāyāḥ samīpataḥ

prasthāpyate—is placed; anayā—by Her; kācid—someone; ita—then; eva—indeed; tataḥ—then; sakhī—friend; tasya—of Him; abhisāritā—met; sā—She; atha—then; yamunāyāḥ—the Ymaunā; samīpataḥ—near.

One of the gopīs has already made arrangements for Śrī Rādhā's secret meeting with Lord Kṛśṇa by the Yamunā's shore.

Verse 279

kalpa-vrkśa-nikuñje 'smin divya-ratna-maye gṛhe
sita-kṛśṇa-niśā-yogya- veṣā yāti sakhī-yutā

kalpa-vrkśa-nikuñje—a grove of kalp-avrksa trees; asmin—in this; divya-ratna-maye—made of splendid jewels; gṛhe—in a palace; sita—bright; kṛśṇa—or dark; niśā—night; yogya—appropriate; veṣā—garments; yāti—goes; sakhī- yutā—accompanied by Her friends.

Accompanied by Her friends and dressed in garments suitable for a bright or a dark night, Śrī Rādhā goes to a jewel palace in a kalpa-vṛkṣa grove.

Verse 280

kṛśṇo 'pi vividhaṃ tatra dṛśṭvā kautūhalaṃ tataḥ
kavitvāni manojñāni śrutvā ca gītakāny api

kṛśṇo—Lord Kṛśṇa; api—also; vividhaṃ—various; tatra—there; dṛśṭvā—seeing; kautūhalaṃ—festibval; tataḥ—there; kavitvāni—poetry; manojñāni—beautiful; śrutvā—hearing; ca—and; gītakāny—singing; api—and.

Meanwhile Lord Kṛśṇa saw many festive ceremonies and heard many beautiful poems and songs.

Verse 281

dhana-dhanyādis taṃś ca prīṇayitvā vidhānataḥ
janair ākārito mātrā yāti śayyā-niketanam

dhana-dhanyādis—with wealth and other gifts; taṃś—them; ca—and; prīṇayitvā—pleasing; vidhānataḥ—by giving; janair—by the people; ākārito—called; mātrā—by His mother; yāti—goes; śayyā- niketanam—to His bedroom.

Then Lord Kṛśṇa pleases the artists and performers with many valuable gifts and then, called by His mother, He goes to bed.

Verse 282

mātari prasthitāyāṃ tu bhojayitvā tato gṛhān
saṅketakaṃ kāntayātra samāgacched alakśitaḥ

mātari—when His mother; prasthitāyāṃ—had gone; tu—indeed; bhojayitvā—feeding; tato—then; gṛhāt—from the house; saṅketakaṃ—to the meeting; kāntayā—with His beloved; atra—here; samāgacched—went; alakśitaḥ—unseen.

When, after giving Him a nightime snack, mother Yaśodā left the bedroom, unseen by anyone, Lord Kṛśṇa left His home and went to meet His beloved.

Verse 283

rātri-sevā militvā tāv ubhāv atra krīḍitau vanarājiṣu
vihārair vividhair veṣaiḥ lāsya-gīta-puraḥ-saraiḥ

rātri-sevā—pastimes at night; militvā—meeting; tau—They; ubhau—both; atra—here; krīḍitau—enjoyed pastimes; vanarājiṣu—in the forest groves; vihārair—with pastimes; vividhair—various; veṣaiḥ—appearances; lāsya-gīta-puraḥ-saraiḥ—beginning with singing and dancing.

Pastimes at Night Meeting in the forest groves, Śrī Śrī Rādhā and Kṛśṇa enjoy singing, dancing, and many other pastimes.

Verse 284

sārdha-yāma-dvayaṃ nitvā rātrer evaṃ vihārataḥ
suṣupsur viśet kuñjaṃ pañcaśābhir alakśitaiḥ

sārdha-yāma-dvayaṃ—7 12 hours; nitvā—passing; rātrer—of the night; evaṃ—thus; vihārataḥ—enjoy pastimes; suṣupsur—sleepy; viśet—enter; kuñjaṃ—forest grove; pa 24caśābhir—with five or six; alakśitaiḥ—unseen.

After enjoying pastimes for seven and a half hours of the night, Lord Kṛśṇa becomes sleepy. Accompanied by five or six gopīs and unseen by the others, He enters another forest.

Verse 285

nirvṛnta-kusumaiḥ klpte keli-talpe manohare
suptāvatiśṭhāṃ tatra sevyamānau priyālibhiḥ

nirvṛnta-kusumaiḥ—with flowers without stems; klpte—made; keli-talpe—on a pastime bed; manohare—beautiful; suptāvatiśṭhāṃ—slept; tatra—there; sevyamānau—served; priyālibhiḥ—by Their dear gopī friends.

Served by Their dear gopī friends, the divine couple sleeps there on a beautiful pastime-bed made of unstemmed flowers.

Verse 286

śrī-nārada uvāca śrotum icchāmi bho deva vraja-rāja-sutasya ca
vṛndāvane rasaṃ divyaṃ rādhayaikāntikaṃ saha

śrī-nārada uvāca—Śrī Nārada said; śrotum—to hear; icchāmi—I wish; bho—O; deva—Lord; vraja-rāja-sutasya—of the prince of Vraja; ca—and; vṛndāvane—in Vṛndāvana; rasaṃ—nectar; divyaṃ—transcendental; rādhayā—with Śrī Rādhā; ekāntikaṃ—last; saha——with.

Śrī Nārada said: O master, I wish to hear of the transcendental mellows of Lord Kṛśṇa's final pastimes with Śrī Rādhā in Vṛndāvana forest.

Verse 287

śrī-sadāśiva uvāca śṛṇu nārada vakśyāmi rādhā-kṛśṇa-rasaṃ śucim
su-gopyaṃ paramodāraṃ na vaktavyaṃ hi kasyacit

śrī-sadāśiva uvāca—Lord Sadāśiva said; śṛṇu—please hear; nārada—O Śrī Nārada; vakśyāmi—I will tell; rādhā-kṛśṇa-rasaṃ—the mellows of Śrī Śrī Rādhā-Kṛśṇa; śucim—pure; su-gopyaṃ—very confidential; paramodāraṃ—sublime; na—not; vaktavyaṃ—to be spoken; hi—indeed; kasyacit—to anyone.

Lord Sadāśiva said: O Śrī Nārada, please hear and I will describe the pure nectar mellows of Śrī Śrī Rādhā-Kṛśṇa's pastimes. These sublime pastimes are very confidential. They should not be spoken to anyone.

Verse 288

aikāntika-rasāsvādaṃ kartuṃ vṛndāvane bhūmau
vraja-rāja-kumāra ūce bahu-kāle mamāvyayam

aikāntika—final; rasa—necatr mellows; āsvādaṃ—taste; kartuṃ—to do; vṛndāvane—in Vṛndāvana; bhūmau—on the earth; vraja-rāja- kumāra—the prince of Vraja; ūce—spoke; bahu-kāle—a long time; mama—of Me; avyayam—eternal.

After a long time Lord Kṛśṇa described to me His last nectar pastimes with Śrī Rādhā.

Verse 289

mayi prasannaḥ śrī-kṛśṇo mantra-yugmam anuttamam
yugalākhyaṃ dadau mahyaṃ svīyojjvala-rasāplutam

mayi—with me; prasannaḥ—pleased; śrī-kṛśṇo—Śrī Kṛśṇa; mantra- yugmam—two mantras; anuttamam—peerless; yugalākhyaṃ—two; dadau—gave; mahyaṃ—to me; svīyojjvala-rasāplutam—plunged in the nectar of His glorious pastimes.

Please with me, Lord Kṛśṇa gave me two peerless mantras plunged in the nectar of His glorious pastimes.

Verse 290

samabravīt tadā kṛśṇaḥ sva-śiṣyaṃ māṃ svakaṃ rasaṃ
bravīmi tvāṃ śṛṇuṣvādya brahmādīnām agocaram

samabravīt—spoke; tadā—then; kṛśṇaḥ—Lord Kṛśṇa; sva- śiṣyaṃ—to His disciple; māṃ—me; svakaṃ—own; rasaṃ—nectar; bravīmi—I speak; tvāṃ—to you; śṛṇuṣva—please hear; adya—now; brahmādīnām—headed by Brahmā; agocaram—not within the range of perception.

Then Lord Kṛśṇa described His nectar pastimes to me, his disciple. O Śrī Nārada, now you may happily hear what even Brahmā and all the demigods do not know. I will tell it to you.

Verse 291

vraja-rāja-suto vṛndā- vane pūrṇatamo vasan
sampūrṇa-ṣoḍaśa-kalo vihāraṃ kurute sadā

vraja-rāja-suto—the son fo the king of Vraja; vṛndāvane—in Vṛndāvana; pūrṇatamo—most perfect; vasan—residing; sampūrṇa—perfect; ṣoḍaśa-kalo—full moon; vihāraṃ—pastimes; kurute—does; sadā—eternally.

Nanda's son, who is the prince of Vraja, who stays in Vṛndāvana forest and enjoys pastimes there eternally, and who is like a perfectly full moon, is the most-perfect form of the Supreme Personality of Godhead.

Verse 292

vāsudevaḥ pūrṇataro mathurāyaṃ vasan puri
kalābhiḥ pañcadaśābhir yutaḥ krīḍati sarvadā

vāsudevaḥ—the son of Vasudeva; pūrṇataro—more perfect; mathurāyaṃ—in Mathurā; vasan—residing; puri—in the city; kalābhiḥ—with phases of the moon; pa 24cadaśābhir—fifteen; yutaḥ—endowed; krīḍati—enjoys pastimes; sarvadā—eternally.

Vasudeva's son, who stays in Mathurā City and enjoys pastimes there eternally, and who is like a moon one day before being perfectly full, is the more-perfect form of the Supreme Personality of Godhead.

Verse 293

dvārakādhipatir dvāra- vatyāṃ pūrṇas tv asau vasan
caturdaśa-kalā-yukto viharaty eva sarvadā

dvārakā—of Dvaraka; adhipatir—the king; dvāravatyāṃ—in Dvaraka; pūrṇas—perfect; tu—indeed; asau—He; vasan—residing; caturdaśa-kalā-yukto—the moon two days before becoming full; viharaty—enjoys pastimes; eva—indeed; sarvadā—eternally.

The king of Dvārakā, who stays in Dvārakā, and enjoys pastimes there eternally, and who is like a moon two days before being perfectly full, is the perfect form of the Supreme Personality of Godhead.

Verse 294

ekayā kalayā dvābhyāṃ mathurā-dvārikādhipau
vṛndāvana-pate rūpau pūrṇau sve sve pade rase

ekayā—with one; kalayā—phase; dvābhyāṃ—with two; mathurā- dvārikādhipau—the king of Mathurā and the king of Dvārakā; vṛndāvana-pate—the king of Vṛndāvana; rūpau—the forms; pūrṇau—full; sve sve—own; pade—places; rase—nectar.

As the king of Dvārakā, Lord Kṛśṇa is like a moon two days before its fullness. As the king of Mathurā, Lord Kṛśṇa is like a moon one day before its fullness. As the master of Vṛndāvana, Lord Kṛśṇa is like a moon on the day of its perfect fullness.

Text 294 (b)

mathurā-nātho vṛndāvanādhipāpekśayā sva-rūpeṇa līlayā ca
ekayā kalayā unah. mathurā-līlāyāṃ mathurāyāṃ ca sampūrṇa-ṣoḍaśa-kalaḥ.

tathā dvārakā-nāthau vṛndāvanādhipāpekśayā sva-rūpeṇa līlayā ca dvābhyāṃ kalābhyām unaḥ.
dvārakāyāṃ dvārakā-līlāyāṃ ca pūrṇa-ṣoḍaśa-kalaḥ.

mathurā—of Mathura; nātho—the master; vṛndāvana—of Vṛndāvana; adhipa—as the master; āpekśayā—in relation to; sva- rūpeṇa—with His own form; līlayā—with pastimes; ca—and; ekayā—with one; kalayā—phase; unah—one; mathurā-līlāyāṃ—in His mathura pastimes; mathurāyāṃ—in Mathura; ca—and; sampūrṇa—full; ṣoḍaśa- kalaḥ—the sixteenth phase; tathā—so; dvārakā-nāthau—the king of Dvaraka; vṛndāvanādhipāpekśayā—in relation to the king of Vṛndāvana; sva-rūpeṇa—with His own form; līlayā—with His pastimes; ca—and; dvābhyāṃ—with two; kalābhyām—phases; unaḥ—one; dvārakāyāṃ—in Dvaraka; dvārakā-līlāyāṃ—in the Dvaraka pastimes; ca—and; pūrṇa-ṣoḍaśa-kalaḥ—perfectly full.

The form and pastimes of the king of Mathurā are like a full moon. Still, compared to the master of Vṛndāvana, the form and pastimes of the king of Mathurā are like a moon one day before its fullness. The form and pastimes of the king of Dvārakā are like a full moon. Still, compared to the master of Vṛndāvana, the form and pastimes of the king of Dvārakā are like a moon two days before its fullness.

Verse 295

śrī-bhū-līlā-yogamāyā cintyācintyā tathaiva ca
mohinī kauśalīty aṣṭau bahiraṅgāś ca śaktayaḥ

śrī-bhū-līlā-yogamāyā—Śrī Bhū, Līlā, and Yogamāyā; cintyā—Cintyuā; acintyā—Acintyā; tathā—so; eva—indeed; ca—and; mohinī—Mohinī; kauśalī—Kauśalī; iti—thus; aṣṭau—eight; bahiraṅgāś—external; ca—and; śaktayaḥ—potencies.

Śrī, Bhū, Līlā, Yogamāyā, Cintyā, Acintyā, Mohinī, and Kaśalī are Lord Kṛśṇa's eight external potencies.

Verse 296

līlā prema svarūpā ca sthāpany ākarśiṇī tathā
samyoginī viyoginy ā- hlādinīty āntarāṅgikā

līlā—Līlā; prema—Prema; svarūpā—Svaru_pā; ca—and; sthāpany—Sthāpanī; ākarśiṇī—Akarśiṇī; tathā—so; samyoginī—Samyoginī; viyoginy—Viyoginī; āhlādinī—Ahlādinī; iti—thus; āntarāṅgikā—internal potencies.

Līlā, Prema-svarūpā, Sthāpanī, Akarśiṇī, Samyoginī, Viyoginī, and Ahlādinī are Lord Kṛśṇa's internal potencies.

Verse 297

vraje śrī-kṛśṇacandrasya santi ṣoḍaśa śaktayaḥ
poṣikā madhurasyaiva tasyaitā vai sanātanāḥ

vraje—in Vraja; śrī-kṛśṇacandrasya—of Lord Kṛśṇacandra; santi—are; ṣoḍaśa—sixteen; śaktayaḥ—potencies; poṣikā—nourishing; madhurasya—of sweetness; eva—indeed; tasya—of Him; etās—they; vai—indeed; sanātanāḥ—eternal.

In Vraja these sixteen eternal potencies expand the sweetness of Lord Kṛśṇacandra.

Verse 298

hlādinī ya mahā-śaktiḥ sarva-śakti-varīyasī
tat-sāra-bhāva-rūpā śrī- rādhikā parikīrtitā

hlādinī—Hladini; ya—which; mahā-śaktiḥ—great potency; sarva- śakti-varīyasī—the best of all potencies; tat-sāra- bhāva-rūpā—the from of ecstatic love; śrī-rādhikā—Śrī Rādhā; parikīrtitā—named.

The Hlādinī potency is the best of all potencies is. That potency is the personification of ecstatic love. That potency is called Śrī Rādhā.

Verse 299

tayā śrī-kṛśṇacandrasya krīḍā yāḥ samaye mune
tadāviśṭaṃ vāsudevaṃ saha kśīrābdhi-nāyakam

tayā—with Her; śrī-kṛśṇacandrasya—of Śrī Kṛśṇacandra; krīḍā—pastimes; yaḥ—who; samaye—at the time; mune—O sage; tadā—then; āviśṭaṃ—entered; vāsudevaṃ—Lord Vāsudeva; saha—with; kśīrābdhi-nāyakam—the Lord of the Kṣīrodaka ocean.

O sage, Lord Vāsudeva and Lord Kśīrodakaśāyī Viṣṇu are also present in the pastimes that Lord Kṛśṇacandra enjoys with His Hlādinī potency.

Verse 300

antarīkśa-gataṃ kuryāc chaktir ākarśiṇī hareḥ
krīḍānte sthāpayet tāṃ tu sthāpinī kṛśṇa-dehataḥ

antarīkśa-gataṃ—in the sky; kuryāt—does; śaktir—potency; ākarśiṇī—Akarśiṇī; hareḥ—of Lord Kṛśṇa; krīḍānte—at the end of pastimes; sthāpayet—establishes; tāṃ—that; tu—indeed; sthāpinī—Sthāpinī; kṛśṇa-dehataḥ—from Lord Kṛśṇa's body.

The potency Akarṣiṇī manifests the Lord's pastimes from the spiritual sky. The potency Sthāpinī manifests the Lord's pastimes from Lord Kṛśṇa's body.
